Ready to take prioritisation (and your career) to the next level?

Hi there,

Boards and Exec teams make decisions based on Return on Investment, now you can too!

Over the last few weeks, we’ve built prioritisation step by step.

We started with the “Crawl” version:A single ordered list. No equals.

Then the “Walk” version:Adding estimates and matching what we are promising to do with real team capacity.

Then the “Run” version:Introducing business value so every item can justify its place.

Now we get to the “Fly” version.

The Fly version is about encouraging this prioritisation to happen at several different levels of the organisation.

  • The Executive team decide which are the highest value, lowest effort programmes to do and prioritises the list of those

  • Each Programme Team / Department decides what the highest value / lowest effort projects are to do and prioritises the list of those

  • Each project team decides what the highest value / lowest effort scope items are to do and works off a prioritised list of those

At each level, people are empowered to make the decisions about what gets done first that are appropriate to their level.

Everyone pulling in the same direction, everyone empowered to make decisions, everyone focused on IMPACT!

Here’s to low-stress success,

James

P.S. If you’d like to put this into practice, I can share a template that will help you do it. Nice and simple - in Excel :-). Just reply with “Template please” and I’ll send it on, along with a video on how to use it.
