About James Louttit
Project Management can be stressful and even well prepared hard-working, intelligent people can get into difficulties.
6 years ago, I ended up in hospital because I was trying to manage far too much through pure effort, grit and determination. Since waking up in that hospital bed, I have made it my mission to figure out the secrets of managing projects with impact rather than effort.
My career took off and I became Project Management Competency Lead of a major bank and then Chief Information Officer of one of Irelands best-known companies. We completed an agile transformation, delivered many projects to delighted stakeholders and started winning awards for our technology. I have managed dozens of successful projects, trained over 600 Project Managers and been accountable for running the IT Department of a major PLC, and I’ve had a lot of fun doing it.
Now it’s time for me to share these learnings with as many people as possible. I want to help you become more effective, less stressed and have more fun with your team and stakeholders.

Having learned from the best project management organisations and done extensive research and training myself, and with over 20 years’ experience working on projects, I know how hard it can be to manage projects effectively. I have the scars to prove, it, but I also have hundreds of tips, tools and techniques that can help you. Whether you are a seasoned Project Manager or just starting out on your Project career.

I run workshops, motivational speaking sessions and training courses that will help you and your team get better in a hundred ways that add up to a successful project.
With PMP, SaFE and SAMC certifications of my own as well as my own research and experience developing and rolling out a project management methodology for a large financial services company. I’ve been there, and done it, and can help you do the same, whether you are running traditional waterfall projects or agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban and XP.
I understand that methodologies need to be adapted to work in the real world and that different organisations need different things. That’s why I can help you build your toolbox of skills and techniques and then apply it to the challenges and opportunities that are real in your business!
Outside of work I am an interested Economist, an enthusiastic DIYer, a keen Scouter and a proud Father of three.
